Our Story

How it all started

Riverside Paving & Trucking Ltd. has been locally family owned and operated since 1972.

The President, Cosimo Chiarappa, started his paving experience in Toronto with basic patchwork and driveways. He then moved to Windsor opening his own company in 1972, teaching his skills and tricks of the trade to his son Frank at a young age.

From parking lots, sports courts, secondary roadwork, and driveways, Riverside Paving & Trucking Ltd. is now a 2nd generation owned and operated paving company, soon to be 3rd with Frank’s son, Noah.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Long Will It Take to Pave my Driveway?

Typical residential driveways take 1-2 days to complete.

How long before I can use the driveway?

Depending on weather conditions, driveways will need 3-4 days before putting vehicles on the new asphalt. Allow 4-6 hours before walking on the asphalt.

How long will my new driveway last?

With regular maintenance, an asphalt driveway can last 15-20 years (subject to weather conditions in your area).

What kind of upkeep/maintenance is needed on a new asphalt driveway?

It is recommended to backfill the edges with topsoil & seed or sod area. Fill any cracks that may appear with rubber crack filler. Seal coat driveway with a water-based asphalt sealer on a regular basis.

How soon can I seal my driveway?

The new asphalt must fully cure before sealing. This usually takes 12-18 months to occur.

Do you offer a warranty?

We offer a one-year warranty (subject to conditions) on all new residential and commercial installations.

How thick will my asphalt surface be?

Residential driveways will be 2 1/2″ – 3″ thick depending on customer requirements. New commercial asphalt parking lots typically will be 3 1/2″ – 4″ thick.

My car tire left scuff marks, are they permanent?

The scuff marks occur by turning the wheels while your vehicle is stationary. If it is a hot day and the asphalt has not completely cured, these can occur. Over time, wheel marks will fade and become less noticeable.
